Hope Easter treated you guys well with plenty of chocolate, food and fun! We have some rather large details to update you all on with regards to the move out of Pyrmont into William St. So hold on to your hats, here we go!

Final Pyrmont Wednesday night class – Wednesday 28th April
Nine years at Pyrmont saw the group grow & change names three separate times, play host to several batizado’s and countless rodas, endure 3 hour Saturday afternoon training sessions,   survive several accidental floor breakages, hear countless complaints from neighbours about ‘noise’ and most importantly, help to forge friendships that have lasted over this period of time.
To see out the final night, we’re proposing one last roda to say goodbye and really give the neighbours something to complain about, so students old and new come down and add your flavour to the Farewell & Auf wiedersehen Pyrmont Roda!
Date: Wednesday 28th April
Location: Pyrmont Community Centre – John St, cnr Mount St Pyrmont
Time: Training starts @ 7:30pm and then extended Roda until 8:50pm
*After drinks at the Point Hotel ( because nothing really changes!)

Aruanda – Thursday 29th April
Borracha will be basing most classes out of our new studio in William St, to kick things off and to warm the space up in the way we know how, there will be a opening party and roda.
Date: Tuesday 4th May 2010
Location:Rhythm Brazil & Capoeira Aruanda Studio – 201B / 77-83 William Street, East Sydney

More details to follow, stay tuned!

Important Updates!!!

Hello everyone,

We have some important updates and some exciting news to update everyone with!

Classes in April

Forestville and Daceyville classes will cancelled for April. Classes will only be held at Pyrmont on Wednesday (7:15pm – 8:45pm) and Coogee (7pm – 8pm and 8pm – 9pm) ONLY. Please check the classes page for the address and class times.

Classes from May

We have some great news, we’ll be holding new classes from May at the Rhythm Brazil & Capoeira Aruanda Studio at “201B / 77-83 William Street, East Sydney”. Its exciting news to have a dedicated studio where we’ll be holding the majority of our classes and events from May. We’ll be updating the website during April with class times, including new beginners class times and times for our advanced students as well.

From May, classes will no longer be held in Pyrmont on Wednesday night (we’ll have a class at the studio instead), and classes will also no longer be held at the Eastern Suburbs PCYC. So after many years of classes at those venues (and we thank the venue managers for their support over the last 10 years), we are moving on!

Classes in Forestville will continue in May, but a new location and class time will follow ASAP, so stay tuned for the updates.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in class, and if you are able to put up your hand to help out with setting up the new studio and making it feel like home, please let Contra Mestre Borracha know in class!!

Videos from the first week of Roda De Rua have been posted to youtube and available on the Roda De Rua 5 event page. Take a look and leave a comment on your experience with Roda De Rua this time around!

We are taking enrolments for the next round of beginner’s classes in Coogee, Sydney, starting March 4th. All the details can be found here, and you can sign up straight away here!
