Classes have started back for 2010, and We have a few announcements and updates to pass onto you, please take a look at whats new and what events we have coming up, including the New Website, Coogee classes, Full Moon Roda, Forestville Open Day, Roda De Rua Series 5 and the Batizado!!

New Website

We have launched a new website, and over the next few weeks we’ll be working on adding more content and keeping everyone up to date on whats going on with events and classes. Be sure to check it out, grab the song booklet and keep checking back over the next month to see whats new, such as;
- All new classes page, with google maps to help you find the locations easier
- Beginners can now register and pay online through Paypal

Whats coming;
- Video and photo galleries
- Song translations and simple Portuguese vocabulary
- Information about the group, Contra Mestre Borracha, and Mestre Boa Gente

Coogee

Classes in Coogee have started up for returning students, all students are welcome to attend classes at the new hall in Coogee (97 Brook St, Coogee – see the new website for maps) from 7pm – 9pm for the next few weeks (21st and 28th January).

From February, the beginners course will start 7pm – 8pm, followed by Beginners II/Intermediate 8pm -9pm. All students are welcome to come along to the 8pm – 9pm class.

Full Moon Roda

We are going to have a full moon roda this year, down by Bondi Beach, from 10pm on Saturday Jaunary 30th. Full details can be found here.

Forestville Shopping Village Open Day

We have been invited to take part in the Forestville Shopping Village Enrollment day to promote our classes at the Forestville Memorial Hall. We would love for everyone to come along to have  a roda, hand out some flyers and do some demonstrations to potential new beginners. Details as follows:

Saturday January 30th 2010
Forestville Shopping Centre (across the road from the Memorial Hall on Starkey St)
8:30am – 12:30pm

If you need a lift there, please contact branquinha@capoeiraaruanda.com or borracha@capoeiraaruanda.com and we’ll make sure that we can get you up and back if you can come along to help support the Forestville classes!

Classes at the Eastern Suburbs PCYC

Please note that classes on Saturdays at the PCYC will not be starting back until the 6th February.

Reminder about bank transfer

Just a reminder that if you want to pay by bank transfer, please register with us that you’ll be paying this way so we can send the details along.

Roda De Rua Series 5

We’re taking registrations for Roda De Rua 5 in the next few weeks, all of the information can be found on the new website! Check out the new that will adorn our singlets this February.

Capoeira Aruanda Sydney Batizado

The next batizado to be held in Sydney will be coming up this May, so get training and working hard, its going to be a big one with some international guests!

Beginners Classes

We still have spots in our beginners classes starting February (though not many left for Coogee), so pass on these details to anyone that you think might be interested in starting up, and if you can help us hand out flyers to cafes, shops or leave up some posters, we’d really appreciate the assistance, particularly in the north area around Forestville.
